ITINERARY
Day
1 - Adelaide to Grampians NP
An early
start this morning, driving through the picturesque Adelaide
Hills, crossing the mighty Murray River, passing through South
Australian country towns to today’s destination, the magnificent
Grampians National Park. We spend the afternoon hiking at
Hollow Mountain & the amazing MacKenzie Falls, finishing the
day with breathtaking sunset views from The Balconies and
Reeds Lookout. Overnight is at Halls Gap (D)
Day
2 - Grampians NP via the Great Ocean Rd to Princetown
Start
the morning with a challenging hike to the ‘Pinnacle’, exploring
the natural wonders and breathtaking views this national park
has to offer. We visit Brambuks Aboriginal Cultural Centre
before heading south to the coast & Warrnambool for a chance
to view whales (seasonal). The renowned Great Ocean Road beckons
for us to explore its beauty. You will see the Bay of Islands,
Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge
before enjoying sunset over the Twelve Apostles. Stay overnight
in the township of Princetown. (B,D)
Day
3 - Princetown to Melbourne
This morning
we drive to the Twelve Apostles before making our way down
Gibson Steps to the beach for a different perspective of these
amazing formations. Next up we spend time at the awesome Otway
Fly, (a 25 meter high elevated tree top walk). Continuing
on we pass through the magnificent cool temperate rain forests
of the Otway National Park, onto the coastal towns of Apollo
Bay and Lorne, exploring the pristine beaches & gorges. We
make our way via the world famous Bells Beach to Torquay (home
of Quicksilver and Rip Curl) after clearing the shops of bargains
we head to the our final destination of Melbourne. (B)

have to book your own accommodation for tonight.
Day
4- Melbourne to Wilsons Promontory NP
Please
choose 1 location for tour pickup today.
We begin our adventure early, travelling southeast of Melbourne
through the pastoral landscape of South Gippsland to hike
and explore the Wilsons Promontory National Park. Walk on
squeaky beaches, watch the ocean of Bass Strait pound on to
the Australian mainland's most southerly point, hike along
spectacular granite rock formations with fantastic views and
learn about the coastal flora & native wildlife (perhaps sighting
emus and wombats!) In the afternoon we travel to the coastal
township of Lakes Entrance; Gateway to the Gippsland Lakes
and Australia's longest beach - Ninety Mile Beach. (D)
Day
5- Wilsons Promontory NP to Snowy River Country
This
morning we commence our journey into Snowy River Country,
taking a break to fly down the 'zip wire' (optional
activity at own expense). Our journey along the scenic
Barry Way is spectacular as we watch the Snowy River wind
below us and cross the border into NSW. In the afternoon,
let the bus do all the work as we climb high into the Australian
Alps (seasonal Nov-May). Enjoy a rewarding hike along an alpine
track (2 1/2 hour round-trip) absorbing stunning views of
the glacial 'Blue Lake' and the peak of Mt Kosciuszko (the
highest point in Australia). During winter, (Jun-Oct) we visit
the ski village of Perisher/Smiggins for fun in the snow (optional
hire of toboggans or snow tubes at own expense). Stay
overnight at the Lake Jindabyne Hotel where you'll get to
enjoy the mountain life; perhaps a sauna, swim or a drink
at the bar while taking in the magnificent view of the lake.

Warning: Tour
graded with ‘3 Boots’ (this day) are only suitable for very
fit people who enjoy can hike up to 9kms a day.
Day
6- Jindabyne to Sydney via Canberra
For early
risers, take the opportunity to fish in the lake for trout
or hit the water, with optional activities including water
skiing and/or wake boarding (summer
only and at own expense). Later, we pass through Cooma,
learning about Australia's great engineering feat the 'Snowy
Hydro-Electric Scheme'. We then continue on to our national's
capital city of Canberra, checking out Parliament House and
other highlights before travelling on to Sydney. (B)

All tours are accommodated and we offer HOSTEL (dorm or twin/dbl
with shared facilities) or ensuite MOTEL/LODGE budget style
(2-3star ensuite). All twin/double rooms are subject to availability
at time of booking. Motel/Lodge style may be located on different
premises to dorm accommodation.
*AM3 - Tour arrives at 3 central locations in Melbourne. Melbourne
accommodation is not included on Day 3.

- Tour departs three central Melbourne locations and arrives
