Itinerary:
This
is a package made up of multiple individual tours. No accommodation
is provided between tours like some other packages because
of the length of this special package to ensure more flexibility
considering the amount of time to travel
ATTENTION: This tour is only for fit and active people,
who can hike 5-9kms a day over uneven terrain, often in high
temperatures. Temperatures can be extreme i.e. very high during
summer days and very cold during winter nights. Adventure
Tours reserves the right to assess the fitness capability
of passengers prior to tour departure. Tour is not suitable
for children. Due to the remote nature of the Kimberley region
we use bush camps with limited facilities on some nights.
There is a STRICT LUGGAGE LIMIT of 15kgs per person,
in a backpack or soft bag.

Day Go Wild Reef and Rainforest departs Cairns - Daily
Day 1 - Cairns to Cape Tribulation
Our guide will give you great insight into the wildlife, rainforest
and local culture as you travel along one of the most scenic
drives in Australia. Visit Mossman Gorge in the World heritage
Daintree National Park to take a guided walk through the beautiful
rainforest or a swim (weather depending). We continue north
to the Daintree River to board a wildlife cruise; searching
the mangroves for 'crocs' and other wildlife before arriving
in Cape Tribulation at your choice of accommodation. Overnight
accommodation included. (Meals at own expense)
Day
2 - Day trip to the Great Barrier Reef
You will be picked up from your accommodation for your full
day tour to the pristine reefs off Cape Tribulation. Enjoy
unlimited snorkelling (snorkelling gear included) or, if you
have not dived before, why not try a fully guided introductory
dive - an unforgettable experience in a safe environment with
our qualified instructors. We also cater for certified divers
and provide all scuba equipment (at additional cost). We get
back to accommodation by 4.00pm in time to start our express
travel back to Cairns. (L)

Day
1 - Cairns to Magnetic Island
Leaving Cairns, we set out to Babinda Boulders for a refreshing
walk. We then visit the Johnstone River Crocodile Farm to
learn more about the most feared animal in Northern Australia;
the estuarine or saltwater crocodile. Spend a couple of hours
learning how this prehistoric animal has survived and flourished
in Australia's harsh north and see large crocodiles up close
and personal. We then drive to Townsville where we take the
ferry to Magnetic Island, so named by Captain Cook because
his compass went crazy when he sailed past in 1770. This afternoon
we take you back in time on the historical forts walk, keeping
an eye out for the Koalas in their natural habitat and taking
in the stunning panoramic views of the Coral Sea. This evening,
relax with a cold beer and watch the sunset from the beach
bar of the only backpackers in Australia located right on
the beach.
Day
2-4 - Whitsunday Sailing
We jump aboard the ferry first thing this morning to head
back to the mainland. We soon reach Airlie Beach where the
next adventure awaits - Whitsunday sailing. You will have
the opportunity to sun-bathe, snorkel and swim whilst exploring
the idyllic Whitsunday Islands on a crewed yacht worth millions
of dollars. Visit the many beaches, coves and islands on this
two night sailing trip, with the opportunity to hoist the
sails and even take the wheel. Note that you will sleep on
the boat, moored in quiet coves. Cabins are share only; no
twin and doubles for these two nights. We disembark in the
afternoon of Day 4 and stay overnight in Airlie Beach. (Day

Day 5 - Airlie Beach to Carnarvon National Park
We start early today for our big drive to Carnarvon National
Park. Carnarvon national Park is a little known jewel located
in the remote Queensland outback and home to Carnarvon Gorge.
This remarkable natural attraction features 30km of walking
trails, 200 species of birds, ancient plants and Aboriginal
rock-art dating back 3500 years. Camp Overnight adjacent to
Carnarvon National Park. (D)
Day 6 - Carnarvon Gorge
Chances are that your sleep will be broken this morning by
the many birds that live amongst the trees surrounding the
camp. After breakfast you will spend the full day hiking through
the many walking trails scattered throughout this magnificent
gorge. Walks are mostly of easy grade and therefore suitable
for all ages and fitness levels, however the options are varied.
You will see 500 year old cycads, grass trees and eucalypts,
native wildlife and learn about the indigenous ancestors that
inhabited this region for more than 3500 years. See the best
examples of rock-art in Queensland, made from the ochre taken
from the region. After a days exercise, you will return to
your camp for a good nights sleep within this wilderness region.

Day
7 - Carnarvon National Park to Kroombit Cattle Station
After breakfast we take a short walk amongst the numerous
kangaroos and wallabies before we travel through cattle country
to Kroombit Cattle Station. Here we experience genuine outback
living with the chance to ride a mechanical bull and take
a walk of the property. Tonight you will taste a traditional
camp oven dinner, cooked in the open fire. (BL D)

8 - Kroombit Cattle Station
Today is jam-packed with wonderful activities also included
in the price of your tour. Learn first-hand about Queensland
farming life as you participate in a "muster" on horseback,
try your skill at trap-shooting and witness a mini-rodeo as
animals are herded into the ring. This evening enjoy another
hearty camp-oven dinner and re-live your days experiences
around the campfire with a beer from the bush bar. (B L D)

9 - Kroombit to Rainbow Beach
After a hearty bush breakfast we head eastwards to Rainbow
Beach where we hit the coast for the first time in four days!
Rainbow Beach is a vibrant young coastal town, with glistening
coloured sands and a relaxed atmosphere. In the afternoon,
take part in a cultural demonstration from your guide, learning
about the didgeridoo, boomerang and spear throwing and the
Rainbow Serpent. This evening relax in our accommodation,
located just 100 metres from the beach. (B D)
Day 10-11 - 2 Day Fraser Island Tour
Spend the next two days exploring Fraser Island on a ranger
guided 4WD safari with Fraser Explorer, staying at Eurong
Resort. You will drive along Seventy-Five Mile Beach, visit
Lakes' Wabby and Mackenzie, Eli Creek, the Maheno Wreck and
climb Indian Head. Return to Rainbow Beach for an overnight
stay. (Day 10: LD Day 11: BLD)
Day
12 - Rainbow Beach to Brisbane
This morning we participate in a sea kayak trip to paddle
amongst wild dolphins at Double Island Point. If you are lucky
you may also see turtles and thousands of soldier crabs. We
then travel south and take a short break at the spectacular
lookout at Wild Horse Mountain to enjoy panoramic views of
the Sunshine Coast overlooking Noosa and Mooloolaba before
continuing on to Brisbane.
Day 13 - Brisbane to Surf Camp via Byron Bay
We travel south along the coast to the Gold Coast where you
can go zorbing (at own expense) - roll down a hill in a 3.5metre
plastic ball filled with warm water for a huge amount of fun!
We'll then continue along to Byron Bay where we admire the
coastal views at Australia's most easterly point: the Byron
lighthouse. We then head to our secluded surf camp, located
beachside to spectacular white sandy beaches on the Coffs
Coast. If surfing isn't for you perhaps sunbake on the crystal
white sands or take a walk around the beautiful headland.
This afternoon we relax on the beach, hang out and have dinner
back at the Mojo Beach House. (D)
Day 14: Surf Camp to Sydney
After a delicious breakfast, hit the beach for your morning
surf lesson. Here we meet up with the crew from Mojo Surf
(some of Australia's best surf instructors) whose mission
is to get you standing on a board by the end of this lesson.
You will start with a theory lesson on surfing and then it's
straight out to the beach to get you on a board. By now you
should have the basic surf techniques sorted and some aspiring
surfers in the group will be turning at the base of clean
breaking waves by the end of this lesson! Travel throughout
the afternoon to the stunning city of Sydney, where you will
be able to cherish the many great experiences of Australia's
East Coast. (B)

We head
out of Sydney past the Sydney Olympic site to our first stop
where we view wild Eastern Grey Kangaroos in native bush habitat.
These 'roos' are pretty big and you can get up close and personal.
We do a 2-3 hour loop walk near Wentworth Falls to see this
waterfall, lookout points and surround. You will walk through
changing vegetation, hanging swamps, and under rock ledges
giving you an overview of the dramatic Blue Mountains environment.
Lunch is included - you'll eat a nutritious lunch, everything
from fruit, sandwiches, salads & more.
After lunch, we walk down the historic Furber Stairs into
Jamison Valley through lush rainforest, past picturesque Katoomba
Falls and view the incredible 3 Sisters rock formations.
From the bottom of the Jamison Valley, board the Scenic Railway
(fare included), the steepest railway in the world and ride
up to the valley rim.
For those staying longer we'll drop you off in Katoomba at
the award-winning YHA at 5.00pm and pick up others. The YHA
is an impressive heritage building and you can experience
some local nightlife in this historic town.
You'll be able to relax as we cruise back into Sydney after
an action packed day.

1 :: Sydney to Jindabyne (via Canberra)
Canberra is Australia's capital city, and this is where we
head on our way out of Sydney. We'll check out where the Prime
Minister 'does his thing' at Parliament House, and other highlights
on a tour of the city. After lunch, we head to Cooma, where
we learn about the Snowy Hydro-Electric Scheme (one of the
most complex integrated water and hydro-electric power schemes
in the world!). Next it's Jindabyne in the late afternoon,
a town with a relaxed alpine village feel. There's time for
trout fishing in the lake or you could even go water skiing
or wake boarding (all at own expense and seasonal). Tonight
you'll enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at Lake Jindabyne
(all included). Kick back and relax with a sauna, swim or
a drink at the bar. (D)
Day
2 :: Jindabyne to Lakes Entrance Via Snowy River Country
After breakfast, a hike along an alpine track rewards you
with stunning views of the glacial 'Blue Lake' and the top
of Mt Kosciuszko (Australia's highest point). During winter,
we've got time to play in the snow at the ski resort of Perisher/Smiggins
(optional toboggan hire or snow tube at own expense). After
lunch, it's a spectacular drive along Barry Way, with the
Snowy River winding along below us. Crossing state borders
into Victoria, we take a break in the afternoon to fly down
the 'zip wire' (optional activity at own expense) before arriving
at our overnight stop at the coastal town of Lakes Entrance.
Here, we're at the Gateway to the Gippsland Lakes and Australia's
longest beach - Ninety Mile Beach. (BD)

3 :: Lakes Entrance to Wilsons Promontory NP and Melbourne
If you're an early bird, it's a great chance for a walk before
we drive to Wilsons Promontory National Park. There's heaps
of time to hike and explore. Walk along gleaming beaches,
watch the ocean pound onto the southernmost point of the mainland,
hike along amazing granite rock formations and learn about
coastal flora and native wildlife. You might even see emus
and wombats. We'll finish our tour travelling to Melbourne
through pastoral landscapes in South Gippsland. (B)

1 :: Melbourne via Great Ocean Rd to Princetown
Our trip continues as we leave Melbourne and head through
Geelong towards the coast to Torquay, with a stop to shop
at Quiksilver and Rip Curl before we continue to world famous
Bells Beach. Our Great Ocean Road journey begins here as we
wind our way along one of the most spectacular coastal roads
in Australia. We stop to see some koalas before passing through
the seaside town of Lorne on our way to Apollo Bay, where
we'll stop for lunch (own expense). Next we hit the cool temperate
rainforest of the Otway National Park, spending some time
at the magnificent Otway Fly, 25 metre high elevated tree
top walk. We cap off the day watching the sun set over the
Twelve Apostles. We'll stay overnight in the coastal township
of Princetown. (D)
Day
2 :: Princetown to Grampians NP
Climb down the Gibson Steps to the beach to get a different
angle of the Twelve Apostles. Next we head on to check out
Loch Ard Gorge and the western end of the Great Ocean Road
including London Bridge, the Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands.
You may spot a whale or two (seasonal) at Warrnambool, where
we have a stop. From here we travel through country Victoria,
arriving at the magnificent Grampians National Park to the
challenge of a hike to the top of the Pinnacle. The day is
topped off by a walk to The Balconies and Reeds Lookout, before
we get to our overnight Grampians accommodation. (BD)
Day
3 :: Halls Gap to Adelaide
Get your legs working this morning with hikes at Hollow Mountain
and the amazing MacKenzie Falls, where you'll experience the
breathtaking views stretching over the north of the Grampians.
Leaving this magical place, we travel west, stopping for lunch
at Horsham (own expense) before continuing through the agricultural
region of Victoria and in to South Australia. Bordertown is
home of the rare White Western Grey Kangaroos. Crossing the
mighty Murray River, king of Australia's rivers, we wind our
way through the picture-pretty Adelaide Hills before arriving
into Adelaide city. (B)

1 :: Adelaide to Parachilna
Leaving the city behind, we travel through the pretty Clare
Valley to Alligator Gorge, set deep in the Southern Flinders
Ranges. Discover some of the distinct flora and fauna as we
stretch our legs on an interpretive walk through the ruggedly
beautiful gorge (seasonal), before continuing on to Quorn.
This afternoon, we'll check out some interesting Aboriginal
rock art at Yourambulla Caves. Get ready for tonight's BBQ
dinner at Parachilna - it doesn't get any more 'Aussie' than
this! We stay overnight in Parachilna. (LD)
Day
2 :: Flinders Ranges & Wilpena Pound
If the weather's good, we'll take the scenic route through
the stunning Parachilna Gorge on our way to Wilpena Pound,
the jewel of the Flinders Ranges. Grab your hiking boots for
a guided climb of Mt Ohlssen-Bagge: you'll be rewarded for
your efforts with sweeping views over the ranges, the desert
and Lake Torrens. We reach Rawnsley Park; a sheep station
set against the spectacular range of Wilpena Pound to spend
the night here in bunkhouse accommodation. (BLD)

3 :: Rawnsley Park to Coober Pedy
It's time to go underground! We'll travel to Coober Pedy today
in time for an opal mine tour and you might have the chance
to go 'noodling' for opals if there's time. Our bunkhouse
for tonight is - you guessed it! - underground. (BLD)

4 :: Coober Pedy to Uluru
Driving through the rugged desert country, we reach Yulara
in time for sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock). The stars put on
a show back at our permanent campsite at Yulara. (BLD)

5 :: Uluru to Kata Tjuta & Kings Canyon
Wake up early to experience sunrise at Uluru - it's worth
the early start! Go for a walk around the base or climb to
the top if you choose (although the traditional Anangu owners
prefer if you don't), before we take a guided interpretive
walk at Mala. After visiting Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) we head
to Kings Canyon, where we camp for the night. (BLD)
Day
6 :: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
There's a lot to explore at Kings Canyon, including the Lost
City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden, and the sheer outcrops
of the North and South Walls. After a bite to eat, we make
our way through the harsh desert landscape to Alice Springs.

1 :: Alice Springs to Banka Banka
We pass by 23° 26? 22? south of the equator (otherwise known
as the Tropic of Capricorn) before stopping at Ti Tree for
the chance to buy original works of art by Indigenous artists.
Learn about the early struggles of bush telecommunications
at Barrow Creek's historic Telegraph Station - it'll make
your mobile phone seem like the space age! Precariously balanced
on their rocky perch are the Devils Marbles, a site sacred
to its traditional owners. Last stop for today is our camp
at Banka Banka Cattle Station and if the weather's good, you
can take a dip in the pretty waterhole. (LD)

2 :: Banka Banka to Katherine Gorge
No visit to the Top End would be complete without a visit
to the famed Daly Waters pub, a quintessential outback roadhouse
and 'watering hole' for travellers from far and wide. The
tiny town is also home to Australia's first international
airport (but you wouldn't guess it!). Mataranka lies in the
heart of the 'never-never', and you'll feel a million miles
from anywhere as you soak in the steamy thermal springs. As
the day draws to a close, we reach our overnight camp at stunning
Katherine Gorge. (BLD)

3 :: Katherine Gorge to Darwin
The gorge is all yours this morning, with a half day to spend
canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the spectacular waters.
Want to see more? Jump aboard a helicopter flight (at own
expense) which will take you high above the vast gorge system.
We'll head to Darwin after a bite to eat, with stops at idyllic
Edith Falls and the 'croc-filled' Adelaide River (both a town

A refreshing start to your day: the waterfalls of Litchfield
National Park, followed by the spectacular Mary River Wetlands.
Birds aren't the only wildlife abundant around here; keep
your eyes out for lurking crocodiles on our private river
cruise! A secluded campsite at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge
is where we'll stay tonight. (LD)
Day
2 :: Mary River to Kakadu
Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, our first stop
this morning. Clamber to the top of a rocky lookout for fabulous
views over the Nardab floodplain. Next it's on to Maguk (Barramundi
Gorge), where a hike is rewarded with a reviving swim in the
plunge pools. Tonight we stay at our permanent camp within
Kakadu NP. (BLD)
Day
3 :: Kakadu to Darwin
Get ready for some 4WD action today on our way to Jim Jim
Falls! Once we get there, we'll hike to the base of the falls
before continuing on to Twin Falls. Feel the beauty of the
stunning gorge and powerful falls from the National Park operated
boat and boardwalk experience. The impressive scenery will
continue to amaze you as we journey back to Darwin in the
afternoon. (BL)

1 - Darwin to Victoria River
We begin our adventure travelling south down "The Track" (Stuart
Hwy) to Edith Falls where we break for a refreshing swim and
some time to get to know each other. Travelling further south
we have a short stop at Katherine Gorge before heading west
towards the Western Australian wilderness. We set up camp
beside the Victoria River for our first night together. Overnight

Day
2 - Victoria River to Kununurra
Up early this morning as we cross the border into Western
Australia. We visit the largest man made lake in Australia
- Lake Argyle and explore the area before heading for the
capital of the north - Kununurra and our overnight campsite.

3 - Kununurra to the Bungle Bungles
Explore Kununurra, the town of the Ord River Scheme and the
scenic Hidden Valley National Park. Then sit back and admire
the awesome views of the Carr Boyd and Durack Ranges as we
head to Turkey Creek. Next it's time to buckle up and hold
on for the challenging 4WD trip into the Bungle Bungle (Purnululu)
National Park for sunset over the Osmond Ranges and our camp.

4 - Bungle Bungle NP
We spend the full day exploring the unusual rock formations
of the Bungle Bungle Ranges, visiting the unique Frog Hole,
the breathtaking Echidna Chasm, and the magnificent Cathedral
Gorge. There's also time for an optional scenic helicopter
flight (at own expense) over the Bungles. We complete our
day with another amazing sunset. (BLD) (C)

5 - Bungle Bungle NP to Parry Farm
Leaving the Bungle Bungle NP we take a short break at Turkey
Creek before travelling onto Wyndham and the Five Rivers Lookout.
Overnight camp at Diggers Rest Cattle Station or Parry Farm.

6 - Gibb River Road & Gorges
We tackle the punishing Gibb River Road stopping to visit
the famous El Questro Station, take a walk in the beautiful
Cockburn Range and swim under the waterfall in Emma Gorge.
We cross the Pentecost River and travel through the spectacular
ranges before heading to our overnight bush camp. (BLD) (C)

7 - Gibb River Road & Gorges
A day of swimming and hiking as we explore some of these striking
gorges: Barnett, Manning, Galvins, or Adcock, depending on

Day
8 - King Leopold Range - Windjana Gorge
We enjoy an early hike and swim at Bell or Leonard Gorge before
experiencing the splendour of the King Leopold Range travelling
to Windjana Gorge. After lunch, we wade through the icy waters
of the mysterious Tunnel Creek to explore the incredible limestone
formations. We camp overnight at Windjana Gorge National Park.

9 - Windjana Gorge to Broome (H)
We view the abundant wildlife of Windjana Gorge including
freshwater crocodiles and explore the 350 million year old
fossilised reef wall rising 90 metres above the riverbed.
Then we head for Derby, visiting the famous Boab Prison Tree
before continuing on to Broome for sunset on beautiful Cable
Beach. (BL)

Departing Broome we cross the Great Sandy Desert, calling
in at the coastal oasis of Eighty Mile Beach where we may
have time for a quick swim in the turquoise water and a chance
to collect some unique seashells. We travel further south
through Port Hedland checking out the enormous piles of iron
ore and salt, before setting up camp at a remote sheep and
cattle property, Indee Station. Tonight, sample some traditional
Aussie damper baked in the hot coals of our campfire. (BLD)

2 - Indee Station to Karijini NP
This morning we make our way to the remote but spectacular
Karijini National Park where we spend the next three days
exploring the ancient gorges and swimming in emerald coloured
rock pools. We begin our Karijini experience with a visit
to the Karijini Cultural Centre before heading for Fortesque
Falls where you will be rewarded with a refreshing swim. Overnight

Days
3 & 4 - Karijini NP
The next two days are spent exploring, swimming and relaxing
in the magnificent Karijini gorges. One of the oldest landscapes
on earth - the region will amaze you. We will explore a number
of gorges including Weano Gorge, Handrail Pool, Oxers Lookout,
Hancock Gorge and Hamersley Gorge amongst others. Overnight

Day
5 - Karijini NP to Exmouth
Leaving Karijini, we call in at the unique mining town of
Tom Price before travelling through the vast bush land and
station country of the Pilbara region on our way to Exmouth

6 - Exmouth
This morning we explore the Cape Range National Park. Take
a dip or relax on the beach at picturesque Turquoise Bay and
hike around the vertical red rock walls of the gorge for stunning
views at Yardie Creek. (BLD) (H)

7 - Exmouth to Coral Bay & Warroora Station
Spend the entire day snorkelling the famous Ningaloo Reef
accessible from Coral Bay's white sandy beach. Alternatively,
you can choose one of the many optional activities including
quad biking, coral viewing cruises and scuba diving (at own

8 - Coral Bay to Monkey Mia
Heading south we cross the Tropic of Capricorn and pass through
the banana growing town of Carnarvon. We call in at unique
Shell Beach before continuing on to Monkey Mia - famous for
the wild dolphins that visit the beach daily. (BLD) (H)

9 - Monkey Mia to Kalbarri
Time this morning to visit with the dolphins before exploring
some of the Shark Bay World Heritage area. We stop to view
the stromatolites - the oldest living organisms in the world
- before heading south for Kalbarri. Time permitting we will
be able to view the Murchison Gorge and Natures Window this
afternoon before arriving in this seaside resort town. (BLD)

10 - Kalbarri NP to Perth
Departing via the coastal gorges of the Kalbarri National
Park, we head to the picturesque seaside town of Dongara before
travelling south through the fascinating landscape of the
Nambung National Park and checking out the famous Pinnacles.
Then we make our way to Perth arriving in the early evening.
