Vehicle
Australian adventure tours using 4WD vehicles with front facing seats style touring vehicles 4WD Mitsubishi or Isuzu- 16, 17 or 20 seats front facing air-conditioned vehicle. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a better view for greater appreciation of the scenery.
Our modern fleet of air-conditioned vehicles includes specially designed 4WD’s and mini-buses so you can explore the Outback with ease. Toyota Coaster mini-bus - (max 22 seats) or Mitsubishi Rosa mini-bus (max 24 seats) - front facing air-conditioned vehicle. We use our coaches in locations where there are large driving distances on sealed roads as the larger vehicles provide greater comfort. In all other circumstances, we focus on providing a small group experience with an average maximum group size of 16.
Suitability
Our tours are nature-based and designed for those that want to experience the unique scenery, flora, fauna, history and culture of each area. While there are few age restrictions on our tours, they are budget in nature and designed for active, fun-loving people with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy bushwalking, swimming and the great outdoors! General good health and a positive attitude are essential and we reserve the right not to carry persons that may endanger themselves or others whilst on tour. Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking and exploring the wonders of our National Parks.

Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, swimming gear, warm clothing in winter water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $15)

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Perth to Kalbarri

We depart Perth and head north through market gardens and vineyards to join up with Highway 1 on our way to Nambung National Park and the fascinating Pinnacles Desert. After exploring these unique formations we travel through Geraldton and continue on to Kalbarri and our overnight accommodation. (LD) (H)

Day 2 - Kalbarri to to Denham

After an early rise we have a short drive to Murchison Gorge in Kalbarri National Park. This afternoon it's time to make our way toward Monkey Mia, stopping at the beautiful Shell Beach and then onto Denham for our overnight stop. (BLD) (H)

Day 3 - Denham to Warroora

After a short drive across the Peron Peninsula we make our way down to the beach and the world famous Monkey Mia dolphins. Heading further north we visit the stromatolites and then on past Carnarvon. We finish the day by driving off the highway and out to Warroora sheep station. Tonight we enjoy dinner around an open fire before heading of to bed in the shearers quarters. (BLD) (SS)

Day 4 - Warroora to Coral Bay & Exmouth

Today is yours to explore Coral Bay and the wonders of the Ningaloo Reef and its fantastic marine life. You can go snorkeling; swim with manta rays or whale sharks (seasonal); cruise on a glass bottom boat; take a quad bike tour or even a joy flight over the reef (all optional activities at own expense). Alternatively just chill out on the beach as today is a day to relax! Late afternoon we drive the short distance to Exmouth. (BLD) (H)

Day 5 - Exmouth

A full day to explore Exmouth. After breakfast it's time to jump on the bus and head out to Turquoise Bay and Yardie Creek in the Cape Range National Park. We return to our hostel late afternoon. (BL) (H)

Day 6 - Exmouth to Karijini National Park

We head inland today towards the oasis that is Karijini. We will take on extra provisions in the iron ore mining town of Tom Price this afternoon before setting up our camp overlooking the magnificent Hamersley Range in time for a spectacular sunset. (BLD) (BC)

Day 7 & 8 - Karijini National Park

The Hamersley Ranges were formed over 2,500 million years ago and are some of the most unusual landforms on earth. From cascading waterfalls found deep in the gorges to fresh still pools ideal for swimming, we experience it all. Some of the gorges are so narrow that you can touch both sides at once. (BLD) (C)

Day 9 - Karijini National Park to Eighty Mile Beach

We leave the oasis of Karijini behind and today we will pass through the mining port of Port Hedland on the way to Eighty Mile Beach. A town tour of Port Hedland will have you marveling at the way the iron ore industry works. (BLD) (BC)

Day 10 - Eighty Mile Beach to Broome

Relax and enjoy a leisurely morning. You may prefer to swim or take a stroll along this massive expanse of virgin beach before we head into Broome. (BL) (H)
*Three nights multi-share accommodation is included. Passengers may prefer to upgrade to ensuite twin/double/single (at extra cost).

Day 11 & 12 - Broome

Two days of leisure in this historic northern pearling town. There is plenty to see and do in Broome, time to just relax or laze on the beach in idyllic weather conditions on the famous Cable Beach or view some of the old Pearling Luggers. We start our time here with a town tour to show you the sights. (B) (H)

Day 13 - Broome to Windjana Gorge

After leaving Broome we stop briefly at Willare Bridge to gaze in awe at the size of this river and the amount of water that flows in the mighty Fitzroy River during the wet season, continuing on we leave the bitumen behind as we head for the Oscar Range and on to Tunnel Creek, a 750 metre tunnel that passes under the Napier range rich in bush-ranger history: just ask your guide for the true story. Day 14 - Gibb River Rd and gorges

After spending a few pleasant hours exploring Windjana Gorge with its abundance of freshwater crocodiles it's time to hit the track again as we travel along the famous Gibb River road to Bells Gorge where we have the chance for a refreshing swim. We then set up camp for the night. (BLD) (C)

Day 15 - Gibb River Road & gorges

A great day of swimming and hiking as we explore some of the Kimberley's striking gorges - maybe Barnett, Manning, Adcock or Galvans depending on the time of year. Overnight bush camp. (BLD) (C)

Day 16 - Gibb River Road to Parry Farm

We continue along the rugged Gibb River Road, travelling through some ancient and spectacular country before crossing the Pentecost River and heading to the famous El Questro Station. We walk into the beautiful Cockburn Ranges for a swim under the waterfall at Emma Gorge. We call in at Wyndham and the Five Rivers Lookout before heading to our overnight camp at Diggers Rest Cattle Station or Parry Farm. (BLD) (C)

Day 17 - Parry Farm to Bungle Bungles National Park

We start the day visiting the bird watchers paradise of Marlgu Billabong, then sit back and admire the awesome scenery of the Carr Boyd and Durack Ranges as we head to Turkey Creek. We take a challenging 4WD trip into the Bungle Bungle (Purnululu) National Park for sunset over the Osmond Ranges and our overnight bush camp. (BLD) (C)

Day 18 - Bungle Bungle National Park

We spend a full day exploring the unusual rock formations of the Bungle Bungles mastiff, visiting the unique Frog Hole, the breathtaking Echidna Chasm and the magnificent Cathedral Gorge. We have time for an optional scenic helicopter flight (at own expense) over the Bungles before heading to our overnight bush camp. (BLD) (C)

Day 19 - Bungle-Bungles to Kununurra

This morning we engage 4WD to wind our way out of the Bungle-Bungles before heading to the capital of the North - Kununurra. This afternoon we explore Hidden Valley - just a stones throw from Kununurra township. Tonight you may have the luxury of a shower!! (BLD) (CP)

Day 20 - Kununurra to Victoria River

This morning we drive out to Lake Argyle and the Ord River Dam. Time to take in the magnificent expanse of the largest man made lake in Australia. This afternoon we cross the border into the Northern Territory. Time permitting we may have a look in at the Keep River National Park before heading to our camp on the Victoria River. (BLD) (BC)

Day 21 - Victoria River to Darwin

We begin our final leg this morning with the short leg to Katherine where we have a brief visit to Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge. Heading north now we stop at Edith Falls for a final refreshing and relaxing swim before heading into Darwin. (BL)

*This tour operates in some of the most isolated areas in Australia. Travel in these areas can, at times, be very unpredictable due to weather, vehicle, road conditions, local conditions etc. and it may therefore be necessary to change the itinerary from time to time. Camping is a combination of bush camping, caravan park and campground camping.

*The itinerary may change during November and April with the closure of the Gibb River Road & the Bungle Bungle NP. Attractions will be substituted with others of interest.
