Vehicle
Australian adventure tours using 4WD vehicles with front facing seats style touring vehicles 4WD Mitsubishi or Isuzu- 16, 17 or 20 seats front facing air-conditioned vehicle. Our 4WD’s (16 - 20 seaters) have spacious cabs with ample legroom and forward facing seats for increased comfort and a better view for greater appreciation of the scenery.
Our modern fleet of air-conditioned vehicles includes specially designed 4WD’s and mini-buses so you can explore the Outback with ease. Toyota Coaster mini-bus - (max 22 seats) or Mitsubishi Rosa mini-bus (max 24 seats) - front facing air-conditioned vehicle. We use our coaches in locations where there are large driving distances on sealed roads as the larger vehicles provide greater comfort. In all other circumstances, we focus on providing a small group experience with an average maximum group size of 16.
Suitability
Our tours are nature-based and designed for those that want to experience the unique scenery, flora, fauna, history and culture of each area. While there are few age restrictions on our tours, they are budget in nature and designed for active, fun-loving people with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy bushwalking, swimming and the great outdoors! General good health and a positive attitude are essential and we reserve the right not to carry persons that may endanger themselves or others whilst on tour. Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 6-8kms per day. A reasonable level of fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking and exploring the wonders of our National Parks.

Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $15)

Itinerary: Dry Season Program (From May/June to November - depending on seasonal conditions and park access)

Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River

See the falls of Litchfield National Park before arriving at the Mary River Wetlands, home to a vast array of bird life. This afternoon look for ‘crocs’ and other abundant wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge for dinner and overnight in our private campsite. (LD)

Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu

Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal rock art and climb to enjoy picturesque views. We continue to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we hike to the plunge pools for a refreshing dip. Stay overnight at our permanent camp within Kakadu NP (BLD)

Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin

This morning we 4WD into the awesome Jim Jim Falls, hiking to the base of the falls then continue on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall. In the afternoon we return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. Overnight dorm accommodation is included (BL)

Day 4 - Darwin to Katherine Gorge

After a refreshment break at Adelaide River we head to Katherine, home to majestic Katherine (Nitmiluk) Gorge situated in the Nitmiluk National Park where we spend the entire afternoon either canoeing or cruising (at own expense) the striking Gorge. Dinner and overnight stay is at our permanent campsite near Katherine Gorge. (LD)

Day 5 - Katherine Gorge to Tennant Creek

Relax in Mataranka's crystal clear thermal pools then experience the famous Outback pub at Daly Waters, the oldest in the Northern Territory. After lunch, we travel south to Tennant Creek for our overnight camp at Juno Horse Farm. (BLD)

Day 6 - Tennant Creek to Alice Springs

This morning we check out the Devils Marbles; precariously balanced granite boulders sacred to the traditional owners' then stop in at the Barrow Creek Pub to view the historic Telegraph Station. A little further down the 'track' we take a break at Ti Tree, for an opportunity to purchase authentic Abroriginal art. We then cross the Tropic of Capricorn and arrive into Alice Springs late in the afternoon (LD)

Notes:
* This is two individual tours joined together. You may have a different guide and group for each section.
* Itinerary may vary according to Traditional Owner & National Park requirements, seasonal conditions & the closure of Twin & Jim Jim Falls. Attractions will be substituted with others of interest
* Where accommodation is not available we reserve the right to use another property of similar or better quality.
* Boat fee of $12.50 and fuel levy $15 are payable on morning of departure.
* Safaris must be reconfirmed by 4pm the day before travel.
* Luggage limit to a backpack of max 15kgs and a daypack.
* Southbound tours do not visit Edith Falls - only Northbound tours

Note: Luggage Personal luggage 15kgs: Is limited to an overnight bag of max 15kgs and a day pack. Most Alice Springs accommodation will be happy to store any excess luggage you may have, some do charge a small fee.
