The Northern Territory makes up nearly one-sixth of Australia and geographically most closely resembles the popular image of the Great Australian Outback.

The north or Top End, centred on the capital, Darwin, is tropical with rich vegetation and a varied coastline. 251km east of Darwin is World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park (the third largest National Park in the world and about half the size of Switzerland), an area of vast flood plains and rocky escarpments steeped in natural and cultural heritage and home to Aborigines for at least 40,000 years. Katherine is 314km south of Darwin and just beyond that is Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park, a striking system of 13 gorges towering up to 60 metres high.

The southern part of the Territory is centred on Alice Springs, which is virtually the centre of Australia and the starting point to explore many of the Red Centre's highlights including Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is located about 465kms to the south-west. Other of the Red Centre's natural and geological wonders include Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), King's Canyon, the Western MacDonnell Ranges and the Devil's Marbles.

Kata Tjuta & Uluru We set out to explore the wonder of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and hike the 'Valley of the Winds'. We head to Uluru(Ayers Rock) to watch the beautiful colours of the desert sun set while enjoying champagne. After a hearty dinner at our permanent campsite, take the opportunity to view the brilliance of the outback sky before retiring for the night. (D)

Day 2 - Uluru An early start is required for one of the highlights of the tour - the Uluru sunrise. You can enjoy a walk around the base exploring its mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal art sites while watching the changing light on the desert or choose to climb Uluru. A visit to the Cultural Centre.

Here we commence our journey on the renowned Great Ocean Road, one of the most spectacular coastal roads in Australia, calling into the seaside towns of Lorne & Apo

We spend time at the awesome Otway Fly, (25 metre high elevated tree top walk) and explore Loch Ard Gorge before enjoying sunset at the Twelve Apostles. Tonight we stay in the fishing village of Port Campbell or Princetown.
